I never understood you.
You would call me
fat, ugly, and filthy,
Then you’d turn right around and use me.
And you let him.
You would hit me
beat me, kick me,
And then say you didn’t mean it.
And you believed him.
Every. Single. Time.
I let you use me.
Why?
Because that’s what I thought love was.
You told me that no one could ever love me,
So I let you use me to try to get a taste of “love”.
That wasn’t love. That was sick.
I always believed you.
Why?
Because I convinced myself that your apologies were sincere.
You told me I was worthless.
So I let you beat me so I got what I deserved.
And then once he abandoned you, you still did it to yourself.
